Summer 2026 Recreational Information

Come join us for a summer of growing and fun!

3-WEEK SESSIONS

Dance & Play

 Tuesdays (July 7, 14, 21)

Ages 18 Months – 2½ Years
Child must be 18 months by July 1, 2026.

This 30-minute parent/guardian participation class is designed to nurture a love of movement and music from the very beginning. Through playful activities and guided movement, dancers explore ballet, jazz, gymnastics, and creative movement. No formal dance attire is required—just come ready to move and have fun!

Movin' & Groovin'

Tuesdays (July 7,14, 21)

Ages 2½ – 3½ Years
Child must be 2½ by July 1, 2026.

This 30-minute class builds on the foundation of Dance & Play, encouraging independence and readiness for our Preschool-level dance classes. Students explore basic movement and rhythm through beginner ballet and creative dance while supporting physical, emotional, and social development in a warm, encouraging environment. Dancewear or athletic apparel is encouraged.

Movin’ & Groovin’ 3-Week Session Schedule and Registration:

Preschool and Kindergarten

Tuesdays (July 7,14, 21)

Preschool Ages 3½-5 Years
Child must be 3½ by July 1, 2026.

Kindergarten Ages 5-6 Years
Child must be 5 by September 1, 2026.

This 45-minute class builds on the foundation of Movin’ & Groovin’. Students practice their independence while exploring and developing beginner level skills. Elements of tap, ballet, jazz, and creative movement will be incorporated. 

Attire: Dancers should wear any dance/athletic attire

Shoes: Tap shoes (black patent leather tap ties preferred) Ballet Shoes (pink leather ballet shoes preferred)

Preschool and Kindergarten 3-Week Session Schedule and Registration:

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT 1st-12th GRADE

Tuesdays (July 7, 14, 21) and Wednesdays (June 10, 17, 24)

Are you a recreational dancer wanting to develop your dance skills? These 3-week sessions focus on specific skill development areas. Dancers will learn beginning level skills with proper technique. In addition, dancers will also be exposed to some intermediate level skills. Dancers can take the information gathered during these sessions to further their dance development.

***These clinics are recommended for Pre-Comp dancers***

Attire: Dancers should wear dance/athletic attire.

Shoes:
1st/2nd & 3rd-5th: Tap shoes and jazz shoes or turners
Middle/Highschool: Jazz shoes and/or turners

Bring a water bottle labeled with the dancer’s first and last name.

Skills Development – Registration:

Preschool/Kindergarten Ages 3.5-6 Years

Child must be 3.5 by July 1, 2026.

These 2-hour themed camps will be filled with creative fun and lots of movement. Participants will dance, tumble and craft their way through a 2-hour camp. A snack will be provided. Bring a water bottle labeled with your dancer’s first and last name. Parents can stay and observe or drop-off their child and grab a cup of coffee and get some errands done. Parents should be prepared to observe the last 5-10 minutes of class for a special dancer show & tell opportunity. Register based on your 2026-2027 school year. Participants must be potty-trained and be 3.5 by July 1, 2026. Be sure to include any allergies when registering (including latex allergies).

Attire: Dancers should wear any dance/athletic attire.

Shoes:
Princess Camp – Ballet shoes or barefoot
Tap-A-Roo – Tap shoes are encouraged, but not required. Wear clean tennis shoes.
Circus Camp – Barefoot

Bring a water bottle labeled with your dancer’s first and last name.

Princess Camp (Ballet/Jazz) – Come enjoy some magical princess fun! Dancers are encouraged to dress-up, just be sure it is something they are able to move in.  Get ready to twirl, leap and curtsy just like a princess.
Tap-A-Roo Camp (Tap/Musical Theater) – Come Tap-A-Roo like a kangaroo. We will hop, shuffle and shake our way through this fun and creative camp.  
Circus Camp (Acro/Tumbling/Flex) – It’s time to bend, twist, jump, and roll your way into your very own circus act. Come learn some new tricks and meet new friends.

Summer Recreational Camp – Preschool/Kindergarten – Registration:

Elementary (1st-5th Grade)

Child must be 6 by September 1, 2026.

Participants will explore dance through these 2-hour themed camps. Participants will develop skills, learn choreography and meet some new friends in a fun and creative environment. Participants may even create some new choreography of their own. Camp will include a themed activity and a snack. Bring a water bottle labeled with your dancer’s first and last name.  Parents should be prepared to observe the last 5-10 minutes of class for a special dance show & tell opportunity.

Register based on your 2026-2027 school year. Participants must be 6 by September 1, 2026. Be sure to include any allergies when registering (including latex allergies).

Shoes:
Pop Star – Jazz shoes or clean tennis shoes. Broadway Beats – Tap shoes are encouraged, but not required. Dancers can wear clean tennis shoes. Circus Camp – Barefoot.

Pop Star Camp (Jazz/Hip-Hop) – It’s time to learn how to move and perform like a pop star. Participants will learn and create choreography which they will showcase in their very own live
performance. Participants are encouraged to dress up like a pop star, just be sure it is something they can move in. Lights, camera, action!
Broadway Beats Camp (Musical Theater/Tap) – What does it take to become a Broadway star? Get ready to dance, act, and lip sync your hearts out. Participants will focus on musicality and learn what it takes to captivate an audience.
Circus Camp (Acro/Tumbling/Flex) – It’s time to bend, twist, jump, and roll your way into your very own circus act. Come learn some new tricks and meet new friends.

Summer Recreational Camp Elementary – Registration:

Middle/High School

Dance Exploration Camp (Flexibility/Movement/Skills/Strength) – Are you a recreational dancer interested in exploring important elements of dance? These 2 hours camps will focus on
beginner level flexibility, movement, skills and strength.  Come meet new friends and develop yourself as a dancer. Camp will include a snack. Bring a water bottle labeled with your dancer’s first and last name.

Register based on your 2026-2027 school year. Be sure to include any allergies when registering (including latex allergies).

Attire: Dancers should wear any dance/athletic attire.
Shoes: Wear jazz shoes, turners or socks.

Summer Recreational Camp Middle/High School – Registration:

POM CLINIC & FIREMUSTER PARADE PERFORMANCE

September 9th (parade performance on September 12th). Register by August 1st.

Join us for this 1-day clinic full of fun! Learn proper pom technique, meet new friends, and have the opportunity to participate in this year’s Burnsville Fire Muster Parade on Saturday, September 12th. Campers will receive a t-shirt (be sure to select your t-shirt size when registering) and their very own set of poms.

Attire: Dancers should wear any dance/athletic attire.

Shoes: Tennis Shoes
